LHA manages 28 phases of Community Housing in Lethbridge and the surrounding region. Within these dwellings also are handicapped accessible units and three 4-plex style buildings with one-bedroom suites for seniors.
All phases within the Community Housing portfolio are deemed to be 100% occupied — subject to turnovers. Applicants are given priority based on need.
In July 2000, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and the Lethbridge Housing Authority jointly bought the Scenic Apartment. CMHA, Chinook Health Region, and the Lethbridge Housing Authority cooperate in placing residents, supporting their needs, and maintaining the property.
There are approximately 218 privately-owned units in various locations throughout Lethbridge that are part of the Lethbridge Housing Authority’s "Social Housing" mandate.
Over 125 landlords have entered into subsidy agreements on behalf of Tenants. The Lethbridge Housing Authority does not provide maintenance services to these properties.
is a unique 10-storey seniors apartment building with 142 suites, located at 535 8th Street South. It was completed in 1975, comprising an 80/20 mix of studio and one-bedroom suites. 4 suites are handicapped accessible.
is 5-storey seniors apartment building with 101 suites located at 2275 32nd Street South. It was completed in 1979, comprising an even mix of studio and one-bedroom suites. 6 suites are handicapped accessible. A major renovation was started in 2005 and was completed in 2007.
is a 16-storey high-rise seniors apartment building with 136 suites located at 521 4th Street South. It was completed in 1983, comprising all one-bedroom suites. 6 suites are handicapped accessible.
The Lethbridge Housing Authority manages other Senior Citizen Self-Contained Accomodation including Courtland Place (shown left), which was built in 1983, comprising 9 one-bedroom suites. The Lethbridge Housing Authority also manages a 10-suite Senior Citizen self-contained apartment facility in Magrath, Alberta.

Properties were acquired with a grant of $400,000 from the federal and provincial governments’ "Affordable Housing Initiative" and a conventional mortgage. Two buildings comprising eight two-bedroom units are part of an integrated condominium complex located in North Lethbridge. Under the "Affordable Housing Intiative", rental rates may not exceed 90% of market.
